Angry Black man rants at traffic cop, somehow doesn’t get shot

The Black driver’s name is apparently Randell Minott. It’s a name I’m glad – and somewhat surprised – that we won’t see it in the obituaries. He got pulled over for failure to signal a turn, about the most minor traffic violation there is, but the officer must’ve sensed a threat in there somewhere since he approached Minott with his gun drawn.

It doesn’t go well … for the cop.

RANDELL MINOTT: … with nobody behind me. Big fucking crime, right? Big crime. A crime enough for you to come with your fucking gun pulled out. Right? Right? That’s big enough of a – a turn signal not made is a big enough of a crime for you to feel like you need to take out your service pistol. Right? Right? Right? That’s what’s up.

Probably see yourself on the Internet. Fucking prick shit. That’s prick shit, bruh! That’s prick shit! You said you just came to the car and did your regular routine, I woulda had no issue. I turned around to a fucking gun pointed at my face! Do you feel empowered now that you pointed your gun at me? Do you feel empowered?

OFFICER: Okay.

[Officer says “Okay” throughout.]

MINOTT: You feel empowered don’t you? Right? What happened? They fucked you up in school, they used to beat you up? You didn’t get pussy in school? What made you feel bold to do that?

MINOTT: Don’t! I don’t. And I know it’s the individual, not every cop is fucked up, but when I hear something fucked up happened to a cop, I be like, “Eh, he probably had it fucking coming.” ’Cause of motherfuckers like you. Good cops get fucked up [?] because of people like you. You came to the car with your gun out. For what? Do you have no conscience – you don’t see what the fuck goin’ on on TV? You – but you don’t give a fuck, right? ’Cause I just woulda been another dead Black motherfucker, right? And you just woulda went about your business, right? Right?

[Officer shakes his head.]

MINOTT: Right? Let’s keep it real, let’s keep it 100. I have no issue with you if you just – just be honest! Right? You just woulda been like, “Oh, a mistake happened.” [beat] Right? You’d have been [?] just wake up the next day, not lose a drop of motherfucking sleep. But I’d-a-had three fucking kids – three kids – with no dad. Dad a criminal? Nope. Dad a thug? Nope. Dad shot dead by a cop [who] “made a mistake”. ’Cause you wanna come with your gun drawn.

MINOTT: You got kids and a wife? Don’t you wanna make it to your fucking kids and wife?

I’ve heard the cop deserves a modicum of credit for not escalating further. If that’s the case, we should weep over just how low the bar has fallen.
