A quiet week on the animal-shooting front, with only two events that I know of. Still two too many.
Lafayette, IN (undated): Officer shoots & kills loose “pit bull” after it allegedly attacks his police dog during an arrest. Cop claims he attempted to put himself between the dogs and also tried to pull the K-9 away. No mention of whether nonlethal equipment was used.
(via Dogs Shot by Police | Facebook)Virginia Beach, VA (09/04/17): Cop searching a DUI suspect’s car shoots & kills the man’s bulldog, claiming the man “released” the dog on him. Man says his dog was only standing and wagging his tail; an eyewitness affirms the dog wasn’t aggressive. No video is available.
