Attempted | Cotopaxi, CO (11/30/17): School resource officer and candidate for county sheriff goes to a family home over a school matter, shoots & wounds their pit bull after he allegedly growls and “lung[es]” at him. He claims he tried to pacify the dog, but the family says the dog has never been aggressive.
(via Dogs Shot by Police | Facebook)WTF | Crawford County, GA (12/01/17): Deputy shoots & kills a family dog accused of “lunging toward” him and biting a neighbor. Sheriff’s investigator then forces the owner to decapitate the dog with a kitchen knife under penalty of jail to have the animal tested for rabies.
(via @PuppycideDB)Unjustified | Trumann, AR (12/04/17): Police statement claims an officer tried to capture a loose family dog, which the cop then shot dead after it “became aggressive”; there’s no indication that non-lethal equipment was utilized. The statement also claims police tried to contact a vet clinic, and that they later called the family to give their condolences.
