Possibly Justified | Aurora, MO (undated): Bare-bones article says two boxers escape a fenced yard and attack and kill a pony, then attack investigators who turned up. Officers first try to subdue the dogs, then shoot them both, killing one.

Dog allegedly got loose and fought with another dog, but bodycam footage reveals she was lying down when she was shot. Latter animal control officer claimed dog bit six dogs and a person, yet no complaint was ever filed.

(via The Watch | The Washington Post)Unjustified | Evangeline Parish, LA (Oct. 28): Cop responding at a home is “attacked” by the family’s 12-pound, ankle-high terrier mix, immediately shoots & kills her … then complains about wasting an expensive hollow-point round.
