Tomi Lahren is something of a star on the far-Right, and for the reasons you’d expect: she’s a diehard Trump-defender who takes the Fox News brand of hyper-partisan conspiracy-mongering and cranks the assholery up to eleven. She previously held a job at Glenn Beck’s The Blaze before they canned her for her pro-choice views, and she’s now found a home for her perpetually outraged videos on Facebook. She’s also on Twitter, where she left this reaction to Trump’s recently announced ban of trans troops:
Pres Trump dedicated to putting radical Muslims in graves whereas Pres Obama was dedicated to putting men in the ladies room. #MAGA

There’s so much wrong here it’s almost a wonder to behold. President Obama ramped up the killing of “terrorists” (confirmed and otherwise) so high that even Breitbart took notice. Meanwhile, the only people Trump’s putting in graves (other than his own citizens, if his plan to repeal Obamacare were to go through) are foreign civilians – but they’ve got brown skin and funny-sounding names, so far be it from anyone on the alt-Right, Lahren included, to care. Ignoring it makes it easier for her to set up her bigoted swipe at the last decent president’s efforts to promote equality amongst his people – another thing Lahren and her fellow deplorables give no damns about.
But really, the award for best take has to go to J.K. Rowling:
Truly, whom amongst us can forget Trump ordering the killing of bin Laden? Or Obama bragging about barging in on naked beauty contestants? pic.twitter.com/1veorstvA0

Ahem – that’s naked underage beauty contestants. Gotta be precise.
Masochistically curious as I am, I took a peek at Lahren’s recent Twitter timeline. It’s full of gems, albeit terrible ones, like a diamond made from horse shit. Take this one, wherein she regurgitates the “it’s expensive to cover them under the military’s healthcare” canard:
The military is not about the wants of the individual, it's about the mission. Taxpayers should not be on the hook for hormone treatment!! https://t.co/cJWFu5BSmb
— Tomi Lahren (@TomiLahren) July 26, 2017
Funny – that’s the line of argument used by everyone who opposes trans servicemembers, yet they never raise any complaints about the over $120 million spent yearly on boner pills for male troops. By comparison, accommodating the needs of the military’s 0.3–0.7% of trans personnel (including hormone therapies, surgeries, and everything else) would tally up an extra $8 million at the most. Since we’re making the argument that the military needs to save money by weeding out onerous healthcare expenses, let’s get rid of all the men! I’m sure Lahren and others making this argument will agree.
We also know that allowing trans troops to serve openly poses no measurable harm to the military’s “mission” (or combat readiness, or unit cohesion, or any other term used by bigots to argue for excluding gays and lesbians, or women, or Blacks, or any other group over the years). A reasonable person might look at all this and conclude that forcing out thousands of devoted soldiers at the behest of a handful of haters would cause far more undue harm to the military’s “mission” than would allowing them to serve.
Another classic:
Veterans dying on VA waiting lists but we should instead allocate our taxpayer $ to fund gender reassignment? Nah. https://donotlink.it/https://t.co/1zKeeqXCet
— Tomi Lahren (@TomiLahren) July 27, 2017
And why is the VA so critically underfunded, I wonder? Maybe it has something to do with how Congressional Republicans are constantly screwing veterans over by slashing their healthcare funding, stripping them of food assistance and cutting down on veterans services generally. Republicans love sending troops off to war, but don’t ask them to take care of the injured human beings who come back needing help with reintegration and medical expenses.
Anyone with any intellectual integrity either knows all this or can find out with a token effort on Google. It says rather a lot about social conservatives that they continue to believe and act as they do.
